Flux Solar Gains RECC Approval

Flux Solar gains RECC Approval. With the solar market growing rapidly, choosing a trustworthy installer matters more than ever. At Flux Solar Energy we’re proud to announce two major milestones that set us apart: we are now fully approved members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) and we have partnered with QANW (Quality Assured National Warranties) to provide insurance‑backed guarantees. These achievements demonstrate our commitment to high standards and give you added peace of mind when investing in renewable energy.

What is RECC Approval and why does it matter?

The Renewable Energy Consumer Code is a consumer protection scheme for businesses selling or leasing renewable energy systems to householders. It sets strict rules covering advertising, sales practices, contracts, installation quality and after‑care. RECC is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) and operates as a TrustMark scheme. In other words, when you see the RECC logo alongside the CTSI Approved Code symbol you know that the installer has signed up to comply with high standards and is monitored by an independent body.

According to RECC’s guidance, the logos provide consumers with a “simple and meaningful way to identify businesses that offer the high standards of service required by the Code”. Members must display these logos on all consumer‑facing documents and marketing materials and link them back to the RECC website. Misuse of the logos is not allowed, which protects you from companies falsely claiming membership.

In practical terms, RECC membership gives you several benefits:

  • Consumer confidence: RECC helps consumers choose reliable companies. Membership signals that a business is committed to complying with the Code’s high standards of consumer protection.
  • Listed in trusted directories: Members appear in the RECC Member Directory and are displayed under a distinct RECC and CTSI banner on the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI), Citizens Advice and Referenceline websites.
  • Access to dispute resolution: RECC provides free mediation and arbitration services if problems arise, ensuring issues are resolved fairly.
  • High‑quality documentation and training: Members gain access to model contracts, guidance on consumer law and training resources.

For you as a homeowner, choosing a RECC‑approved installer means you are dealing with a company that has committed to treating customers fairly, providing clear pre‑contract information, using plain language in contracts and guaranteeing workmanship.

Why does deposit protection and an Insurance Backed Guarantee matter?

When you purchase a solar, battery or heat pump system you often pay a deposit before installation and you expect the workmanship to last. But what happens if the installer goes out of business? Under the RECC Code, members must insure any deposits and stage payments they take and must insure the workmanship guarantee they issue, protecting consumers against an installer ceasing to trade. RECC has negotiated a favourable rate with QANW that only members can access.

Deposit protection

On RECC’s consumer page you can see how this protection works. QANW’s deposit insurance protects payments for at least 35 days and often longer, depending on the policy. If an installer stops trading before the work is completed, the insurance provider will either refund your deposit or appoint a new contractor to finish the job. QANW’s own guidance explains that deposit protection covers up to 25 % of the contract value and lasts until the work starts. Most policies are valid for up to 90 days, ensuring your money is safe while you wait for the installation.

Insurance‑backed workmanship guarantees

An Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) covers the workmanship warranty that your installer gives you after completion. QANW offers policies lasting 2, 5 or 10 years. The cover applies if a defect appears and the installer has ceased trading; QANW will then arrange for repairs or compensate you. Defects must be reported within 30 days of discovery, and even defects discovered up to six months before the installer stops trading can be covered. In addition, QANW’s renewable energy warranty scheme provides installation completion insurance that protects deposits for 120 days if the contractor ceases trading and workmanship cover for at least six years, exceeding the minimum two‑year term.

This layer of protection means that you won’t be left with an unfinished or faulty system if a company closes down. It adds real financial security to your investment.

How Flux Solar Energy protects your investment with RECC Approval

By becoming a RECC member and partnering with QANW, Flux Solar Energy is making your journey to renewable energy safe and stress‑free. Here’s what that means for you:

  1. Secure deposits and stage payments.  When you place your order, we register your deposit with QANW so it is insured. Should anything unexpected happen before installation, your money is protected for at least 35 days—and typically up to 90 days.
  2. Long‑term workmanship cover.  Our workmanship guarantee is backed by QANW, providing up to 10 years of coverage. If a defect arises and we are no longer trading, QANW will step in to put things right.
  3. Compliance with high standards.  We follow RECC’s consumer code, meaning we deliver honest advice, transparent contracts and quality installations. Our sales and marketing are clear and free of pressure.
  4. Use of approved logos.  You will see the RECC and CTSI logos on our website and documentation; these are displayed according to RECC’s guidelines and show that we are authorised to use them. We never misuse these logos or claim membership we don’t hold.
  5. Favourable insurance rates.  Because we are RECC members, we can access the discounted QANW premium negotiated by RECC. That means comprehensive protection without adding unnecessary costs to your project.

Going beyond compliance

Flux Solar Energy doesn’t just meet the minimum; we aim to exceed expectations. In addition to the protections required by RECC:

  • MCS certification and TrustMark.  We are certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and registered with TrustMark, which means our installations meet industry technical standards and are quality‑assured.
  • Custom system design.  Our engineers design your solar, battery and heat pump systems to maximise efficiency for your property. We assess roof orientation, shading and usage patterns to create a tailored solution that delivers the best return on your investment.
  • Comprehensive after‑care.  We monitor system performance, offer maintenance guidance and provide optional service packages. Should you need assistance, our support team and QANW’s claims process are both there to help.

What this means for you

Choosing Flux Solar Energy means you’re not just buying panels or batteries—you’re investing in a service built on transparency and trust:

  • You receive what you pay for. Your deposit is insured and your contract is registered.
