What is QANW?

An insurance‑backed guarantee (IBG) protects consumers if their installer ceases trading. If a defect arises and the installer is no longer trading, the IBG honours the contractor’s guarantee and covers the cost of putting it right. Payments are covered by the installer, not the homeowner
QANW promises to ensure all consumers are respected, protected and educated on their home improvement journey.
When consumers have used a QANW member, during their period of membership, and hold a contract with the member for their domestic property, they should receive:
- Deposit protection and an insurance‑backed guarantee;
- Cover for a wide range of home improvements, including renewable‑energy installations like solar PV, heat pumps, roofing, glazing and more
- A simple claims process and support if an installer ceases trading;
- Transferability of the guarantee if the installer’s written warranty allows it
